Francisco J. Bonilla-Escobar

Francisco J. Bonilla-Escobar, MD MSc PhD is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Washington since September 2023 and serves as the Editor in Chief for the International Journal of Medical Students. With extensive experience in clinical research, Bonilla-Escobar was a PhD student in the Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Program at the University of Pittsburgh from December 2016 to May 2024, contributing to program analysis and providing academic advice. Previously, as Program Coordinator, Bonilla-Escobar established foundational principles for a Teleophthalmology Program. Bonilla-Escobar's academic background includes a PhD in Clinical Research and Translational Science from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Universidad del Valle, and a Doctor of Medicine from the same institution.
