Shela Kaur Kochar

Shela Kaur Kochar has a diverse and extensive work experience. Shela currently serves as the Director of Operations at International Leadership Charter High School. Prior to this role, they worked as an Educational Trainer as a freelance professional since 2011. From 2016 to 2021, Shela was the Operations Manager at Democracy Prep Public Schools in the Bronx. In this position, they managed several departments and played a key role in developing policies and practices to support teacher development and the finance team. Before that, from 2008 to 2016, they held the position of Managing Director at B.H., where they oversaw the development of a strong foundation for the school and managed construction projects. Shela also worked as the Director of Student and Family Affairs at Public Prep Network, where they implemented a strategic vision for the school, supervised various departments, and significantly improved student attendance and parental engagement.

Shela Kaur Kochar holds an MBA degree in Corporate Finance and Human Resources from Capella University of Minneapolis. Shela also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hunter College.
