Isabela Duarte

Isabela Duarte is an economist currently employed at the International Monetary Fund since September 2021. Prior to this role, Isabela served as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and Research Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School from July 2019 to July 2021. During the Ph.D. candidacy in Economics at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro from 2014 to October 2020, Isabela gained extensive experience including an advisory position at the Ministério da Economia from July 2017 to February 2019, focusing on productivity and competition advocacy. Additionally, Isabela completed internships at Câmara dos Deputados and Banco Central do Brasil in 2010 and 2009 respectively. Isabela's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and a Master's degree, both obtained from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidade de Brasília.
