Joe Kogan

Joe Kogan is a seasoned financial sector expert with extensive experience in emerging markets strategy. Currently serving as a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund since May 2021, Kogan previously held the position of Head of Emerging Markets Strategy at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets from August 2009 to May 2021, where responsibilities included advising institutional investors and leading investor trips in Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior roles include Emerging Markets Strategist and Vice-President at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers, focusing on Latin American fixed income research and Eastern European credits, respectively. Additionally, Kogan has academic experience as a Visiting Professor of International Business at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where Joe taught courses in business strategy. Kogan earned a Ph.D. in Business-Economics from Harvard University and an AB in Economics and Mathematics from Princeton University.
