Matt Davies has an extensive career in international finance and economic development, currently serving as the Assistant Director of the Fiscal Affairs Department at the International Monetary Fund since January 2001, where Matt leads the Global Public Finance Partnership. Previously, Matt held the role of Assistant Director for the Institute for Capacity Development, focusing on the IMF's Capacity Development Strategy, and worked as Division Chief and Deputy Division Chief, including a tenure as the Myanmar Mission Chief. Earlier in his career, Matt served as the PFTAC Coordinator, managing technical assistance and macroeconomics, and worked as a Senior Economist, providing fiscal technical assistance for Cambodia and Bangladesh. Prior to joining the IMF, Matt was an Economic Advisor for Pakistan at DFID from 1997 to 2000.
