Peter Carlberg

Section Chief - Procurement

Peter Carlberg is an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in strategic leadership and contract management. Currently serving as Section Chief - Procurement at the International Monetary Fund since September 2025, Peter oversees all procurement activities in alignment with organizational goals. Previously, Peter held positions at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control as Head of Section Procurement, where responsibilities included performance management and provision of procurement advice, and as Head of Legal and Procurement (a.i), leading both legal and procurement teams. Prior roles at Europol and Eurojust focused on advising on procurement procedures and ensuring compliance. Peter's career began at the Swedish Competition Authority as a Senior Legal Adviser, and earlier experience includes serving as a Procurement Consultant at VHS and as Ombudsperson for Children at Save the Children Finland. Peter holds a Master of Laws in Competition Law from Lund University and additional qualifications in International Law from Université Côte d'Azur.
