Veda Poon

Veda Poon currently serves as the UK Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund, a position held since August 2023. Previously, Veda Poon was the Director of International Finance at HM Treasury from July 2018 to August 2023 and served as Counsellor for Financial Services and Trade at the UK Permanent Representation to the European Union from August 2015 to July 2018. Additional roles include Deputy Director of the European and Global Issues Secretariat at the Cabinet Office, and positions at HM Treasury as part of the Financial Regulation and Markets Group and as a Senior Policy Advisor. Veda Poon began a career in policy management as a Programme Manager at the Financial Sector Reform and Strengthening Initiative. Educational credentials include studies at Stanford University and The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
