Giuseppe Deleonardis

Giuseppe Deleonardis is the current Head of Compliance, Risk and Internal Control at the International Olympic Committee. Giuseppe has over fifteen years of experience in management consulting and risk management.

Deleonardis started their career in management consulting at Synapse Advisors in 2011 where they were a managing consultant. Giuseppe was responsible for the design and delivery of management consulting services in governance, risk and compliance, IT governance & optimization, IT risk & security, and project management. In 2015, they left Synapse Advisors to join Deloitte as a manager in their Enterprise Risk Services department. At Deloitte, they were responsible for governance, risk & compliance and controls automation in SAP. Giuseppe also oversaw internal control enhancement and COSO framework review, segregation of duties, critical access monitoring, data analytics and support in IT application control assurance for external audits. In their time at Deloitte, they also conducted third-party assurance and attestation (SSAE 16 and ISAE 3402).

In 2018, Deleonardis left Deloitte to join the International Olympic Committee as their Head of Compliance, Risk and Internal Control. In this role, they are responsible for leading the development and implementation of the IOC’s compliance and risk management strategy.

Giuseppe Deleonardis studied Business Administration at Università Bocconi, where they earned their Master's degree. Giuseppe also participated in a Leadership Development programme at IMD. Giuseppe is certified by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), by DNV Business Assurance as a Lead Auditor ISO/IEC 27001, by TÜV SÜD as ISO/IEC 20000, by IPMA: International Project Management Association as a Certified Senior Project Manager - Lev. B, and by ISACA as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Giuseppe Deleonardis works with Sebastien Sarrazin - Head of Internal Audit, André Sabbah - Head of Institutional Legal Services, and Christian Thill - Head of Olympic Games Legal Services. Giuseppe Deleonardis reports to Paquerette Girard Zappelli, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.
