Rebecca Wardell OLY is a seasoned sports professional with extensive experience in Olympic Games planning and delivery. Currently serving as Senior Olympic Games Readiness Manager at the International Olympic Committee since August 2019, Rebecca has also held roles as Senior Olympic Games Delivery Manager for major upcoming Games, including Beijing 2022 and LA 2028. Prior to this, Rebecca was a Founding Partner of The Long Way Home NZ, a cycling initiative aimed at supporting aspiring young sportswomen, and served as Senior Games Planning and Coordination Manager for the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. A former elite athlete, Rebecca represented New Zealand in heptathlon at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, as well as at multiple Commonwealth Games and World Championships. Rebecca holds a Master's degree in Transport Engineering and a BA (Hons) in Political Science and German from the University of Canterbury.
