Ali Shawket

Ali Shawket is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in water resources management and environmental sustainability. Currently serving as the National Programme Officer for Climate Resilience and Environmental Sustainability at IOM - UN Migration since July 2023, Ali has previously held key roles at the REACH Initiative, including Country WASH Focal Point and Senior GIS Officer. Other notable positions include Environmental Expert at AMBERO Consulting GmbH and WASH Project Coordinator at Bundesanstalt Technisches Hilfswerk. Ali started a career in translation before pursuing higher education, earning a Master's degree in Integrated Water Resources Management from Cologne University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Water Resources Engineering and Management from the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr.
