Since September 2007, David has served as the Chief of Mission for Australia and Coordinator for New Zealand at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), where responsibilities include leading a team focused on enhancing migration outcomes and combating human trafficking. Prior to this role, David held various positions within IOM, including Director of Strategic Planning and Organizational Performance and Head of the Immigration and Border Management Division, overseeing substantial global programs. David's career began at the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection, where multiple roles encompassed refugee status determination and law enforcement, including a significant diplomatic post as First Secretary at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. David holds an education from the University of Canberra.
