Emre Baran

Emre Baran is a seasoned professional in immigration and border governance, currently serving as a Senior National Programme Officer at IOM - UN Migration since June 2018, with a progression from National Programme Officer to Senior Project Assistant in the same role. With prior experience at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development as an Assistant to the Senior Project Officer and as a Junior Expert at UNDP Türkiye, Baran has cultivated a strong background in project management and international relations. Additional roles include Counselor at the Meat and Milk Board, Administrative Attaché at the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka, and various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, focusing on bilateral relations and protocol arrangements. Baran holds a Master’s degree in Migration Studies from TED University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Bilkent University.
