IOM - UN Migration
Evelin Verhas currently serves as the Head of Programmes and Liaison for Hungary at IOM - UN Migration since April 2024. Prior to this role, Evelin was the Head of Programmes at the Tom Lantos Institute from October 2016 to February 2024, overseeing programme activities and managing a team of programme managers and officers. Evelin also held positions such as Human Rights and Identity Programme Manager and Legal Cases Officer at Minority Rights Group International, where responsibilities included developing strategies for minority rights advocacy and delivering legal casework. Previous experiences include working with Amnesty International on human rights violations against Roma communities and serving as a Program Associate at Minority Rights Group Europe, focusing on minority rights protection in the Western Balkans. Evelin holds a Master of Science in Human Rights from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Berkeley, and an Associate's Degree in Administration of Justice from Santa Monica College.
