Melawit Weldegergis possesses extensive experience in monitoring and evaluation within various international organizations. Currently serving as a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Officer at the International Labour Organization since May 2025 and as a National Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for IOM - UN Migration since August 2023, Melawit has demonstrated expertise in program management and evaluation. Prior roles include Monitoring and Evaluation Manager and Program Manager at the Norwegian Refugee Council from May 2018 to August 2023, and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer positions at GIZ Ethiopia and Djibouti from November 2016 to May 2018, as well as at Tigray Youth Association/USAID from June 2013 to November 2016. Melawit holds a Master of Arts in Developmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, both obtained from Mekelle University.
