Raymond Pierce

President and CEO of the Southern Education Foundation. He was previously a partner with the law firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina, and has served as Dean of the North Carolina Central University School of Law. Over a forty-year legal career he has represented clients in the steel, energy, construction and banking businesses, and assisted clients with government-related issues. He served in the administration of President Clinton as a senior official at the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights. He holds a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a B.A. from Syracuse University.
