David Sands

David Sands is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in democratic governance and capacity building across the Middle East and North Africa. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor in Grants and Agreements at the International Republican Institute, David has contributed significantly to various initiatives, including serving as Co-Chair of IRI's Closed and Closing Spaces Community of Practice and managing projects that assess political dynamics in transitioning governments. With a background that includes roles at the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening and The Rendon Group, David has developed and implemented programs aimed at enhancing local governance, political participation, and civil society capacity. David holds multiple degrees in Middle Eastern Studies, including a Master's from Georgetown University, and has demonstrated expertise in managing significant program budgets and fostering international partnerships.
