Jummai Yila

Jummai Yila is currently a Senior Scientist I in Gender and Social Research at the International Rice Research Institute. JUMMAI co-leads SeEdQUAL’s work package 6 on scaling equitable access to quality seed and focuses on inclusive seed systems with a gender, youth, and social inclusion lens in Africa and Asia. With a Ph.D. in Gender and Development Studies, their extensive experience includes leading gender research programs, developing gender analytical tools, and empowering women and youth in agricultural value chains in various organizations such as ICRISAT and the African Forest Forum.
