Simon W. has a diverse range of work experience in the finance field. Simon started their career as an Assistant Management Accountant at Loddon NHS Trust in 1999. In this role, Simon was responsible for checking and entering income and expenditure, producing monthly management accounts, distributing accounts to budget holders, and reporting to managers on their current situation.

Simon then moved on to Ashgate Publishing Ltd, where they held multiple roles. As a Management Accountant from 2000 to 2001, Simon produced monthly management accounts, managed accruals and prepayments, and updated the fixed asset register. From 2002 to 2006, they worked as a Senior Management Accountant, preparing monthly management accounts, reconciling control accounts, and assisting with the annual budget meetings. In 2007, Simon became the Financial Controller, streamlining processes through automation, overseeing an accounting system upgrade, and reducing the department size. Simon held this role until 2015.

Most recently, Simon worked as the Head of Finance at the International School of London. Since 2016, they have been involved in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, cashflow management, financial performance reporting, and the development of finance systems.

Simon W. completed their secondary education at John Hunt of Everest School from 1986 to 1991, earning 8 GCSE's with grades C or above, including Mathematics and English. Following this, from 1991 to 1994, they attended Queen Mary's College, where they pursued 3 A Levels in Business Studies, Mathematics, and Computing.

Additionally, they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematics for Finance and Management from the University of Portsmouth in September 1994. Later, in September 2000, they earned a certification as a Chartered Management Accountant from CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
