Monica Gargiulo-Benitez

Monica has been an advocate of Montessori Education in South Florida since 1989. She is the founder and Head of School of Montessori Academy of Broward, serving students from infants through middle school since 2002.

Monica is also the founder and director of Montessori Academy Training Institute (MATI); established in 2004 the centre is accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education and affiliated with the American Montessori Society. MATI trains and certifies Montessori teachers. She is also a founder member of the Montessori Florida Coalition; an organisation that provides professional development to over 600 teachers in South Florida. She also serves as a team member for the Association of Independent Schools of Florida schools accrediting body, and as a consultant and evaluator for the American Montessori Society.
