Bilel Jamoussi

Deputy-director Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (tsb), ITU at International Telecommunication Union

Dr. Bilel Jamoussi currently serves as the Deputy-Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB) at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) since January 2010, having also held the position of Chief of the Study Groups Department within the same bureau. Dr. Jamoussi was nominated by Tunisia as a candidate for the Director role of the TSB in both August 2014 and August 2022. Prior to their current role, Dr. Jamoussi was a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) from 2007 to 2016, and served as a speaker for the Club de Madrid in 2011. Additionally, Dr. Jamoussi contributed significantly at Nortel Networks from 1994 to 2009, holding various leadership positions including Director of Standards and Advanced Technology. Dr. Jamoussi's educational background includes a PhD in Computer Engineering from Penn State University, earned from 1985 to 1994.
