Kristen Coco

VP, External Affairs at International WELL Building Institute

Kristen Coco brings a proven track record in leading successful strategic communications and outreach programs for the private, public and non-profit sectors, including Fortune 500 companies and the United Nations – with a focus on sustainability and social impact. Kristen has overseen marketing, communications and public affairs for the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) and parent company Delos, including all WELL programs and broader efforts to advance health and well-being in buildings, organizations and communities. Based in London, she serves as a senior member of the global External Affairs team and leads communications for IWBI across the EMEA region.

At the United Nations Global Compact, she led external communications, media relations and branding to position the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative as the global innovator and standard setter for responsible business and ESG. She developed creative partnerships with media outlets, UN agencies, consulting firms and international organizations to advance initiatives on issues ranging from climate change, water stewardship and women’s empowerment to anti-corruption, business and peace, and humanitarian efforts.

Previously, Kristen promoted University scholarship in international affairs, politics and economics at Columbia University’s Office of Communications and Public Affairs. At Sugerman Communications Group, she developed and executed strategic communications campaigns for corporate, governmental and trade association clients on real estate, urban planning, labor relations, education and international trade.

Kristen’s diverse international and diplomatic experience extends to positions with the U.S. Mission to the United Nations Office of Press and Public Diplomacy and the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles. She also served on the Advisory Board for the MA in Corporate Communication/CCI Program at Baruch College. Kristen holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and a BA in political science from the University of California Los Angeles.
