Scott Donovan Lucas

Scott Donovan Lucas has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Scott Donovan started their career as a Boot Camp Leader in 2009 while also working as an Intramural Soccer Official at the University of Calgary. In 2009, they also worked as a Student Teacher at Colonel Irvine Junior High School under the Calgary Board of Education.

From 2010 to 2011, Lucas worked as an Employment Facilitator/Community Facilitator at the Progressive Alternatives Society of Calgary, helping clients with job search and connecting with potential employers. Scott Donovan also served as a Secondary School Supply Teacher at Tradewind Recruitment during this time.

Lucas joined Tradewind Recruitment again in 2010 as a Secondary School Supply Teacher for a short period before transitioning to TOLLBAR MULTI ACADEMY TRUST in 2011, where they worked as a KS3/4 Science Teacher.

In 2011, Lucas started teaching at Dwight School London, where they held various roles including DP Chemistry/MYP PE Teacher, DP TOK/MYP PE Teacher, and DP Bio/ESS/TOK & MYP Science Teacher. Scott Donovan also served as the Head of Science & Theory of Knowledge Coordinator from 2015 to 2018.

Lucas had the opportunity to participate in a Theory of Knowledge curriculum review meeting organized by the International Baccalaureate in 2018. During this meeting, they collaborated with other educators to develop ideas for the course structure and assessment tasks.

Since 2018, Lucas has been associated with Internationella Engelska Skolan, first as a Science and Physical Education & Health Teacher, then as a Science and Technology Teacher, and currently as the Head of Science.

Overall, Lucas has gained extensive experience in teaching science and physical education, as well as coordinating curriculum and participating in educational initiatives.

Scott Donovan Lucas attended the University of Calgary from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree with a focus on Pedagogy. Scott Donovan then continued their education at the University of Calgary from 2008 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary Physical Education. In addition to their degrees, Scott has obtained several certifications. In 2016, they completed the IB Theory of Knowledge Category 2 Online program offered by The International Baccalaureate. In the same year, they also obtained the Healthy and Safety in Practical Science for Heads of Science certification from CLEAPSS. In 2015, Scott achieved certifications in IB MYP Science Curriculum Category 2, 2014 syllabus, and IBDP Biology Category 2, 2014 syllabus, both offered by The International Baccalaureate. In 2014, they completed the Keep it Safe! Healthy and Safety in Practical Science for New Teachers certification from CLEAPSS. In 2013, Scott attended the IBDP TOK Seminar, 2013 syllabus offered by the IB Schools and Colleges Association and obtained the IBDP Biology Category 1 certification from The International Baccalaureate.
