Madeline Eiken

Madeline Eiken, PhD, is a co-founder and COO of Intero Biosystems since February 2024. Previously served as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from August 2021 to October 2025 and as a Cell Research Associate at Essent Biologics, where responsibilities included developing research-use-only biologics products and optimizing collagen processes. Prior experience includes internships and fellowships where Madeline extracted and characterized collagen, completed an ethics project awarded the Markkula Prize, and led various projects at organizations such as Engineers Without Borders USA. Madeline holds a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
