Dana Wade, MLS(ASCP)cm, has a diverse work experience that spans various industries. Starting in 2020, they worked at Interpath Laboratory, Inc as a Laboratory Director, where they oversaw technical training for employees, participated in quality improvement initiatives, conducted audits, and validated new analyzers and test systems. They also worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Oregon State University from 2016 to 2020, performing laboratory testing for Student Health Services and serving as an experienced phlebotomist. Before that, they were a Laboratory Support Technician at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines, where they performed quality control, specimen set up, and ensured traceability of specimens. Prior to that, they worked as an Office Manager at Boone Veterinary Hospital, providing administrative support and cross-training in veterinary assistant work. They also had experience as a Teaching Assistant at Iowa State University, leading lab sessions for undergraduate biology students. In addition, they worked as a Customer Service Representative at Von Maur, where they provided excellent customer service and received recognition from the store manager. They also served as an Assistant Director at The Fund for the Public Interest, managing a grassroots campaign office, and as an Intern at the Sierra Club Iowa Chapter, handling communication and social media management.

Dana Wade, MLS(ASCP)cm, completed their education in a chronological order. Dana initially attended Simpson College from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a Minor in Environmental Science. Afterward, from 2013 to 2015, Dana attended Iowa State University to fulfill the course requirements for the Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) program. In 2015, they transferred to Mercy College of Health Sciences and completed their CLS degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist in 2016. Dana also holds an additional certification as an MLS from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), which they obtained in August 2016.
