Dr. Stephen Maguire

Dr. Stephen Maguire is the Executive Director of the Centre on Values and Ethics at Carleton University and an Adjunct Research Professor supervising doctoral candidates in Ethics and Public Affairs. They serve as Chair of the Standing Committee on Ethical Matters at INTERPOL and Co-Chair of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Ethics Committee. Dr. Maguire has been a member of various committees, including the National Advisory Committee on Ethics at Correctional Services Canada. Their research focuses on professionalism in policing, having conducted extensive surveys and interviews leading to significant recommendations for improvement. Additionally, they direct the Certificate Program in Organizational Values and Ethics, which prepares senior leaders and ethics advisors across multiple government departments and public safety agencies.
