Trilingual ASL Interpreter at Interpretek

Edwin Fernandez serves as a Professor of American Sign Language at Valencia College since May 2016, while also holding the position of Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Central Florida since February 2024. With extensive experience as a trilingual ASL interpreter, Edwin has worked with Interpretek since 2011 and previously with Sorenson Communications from 2007 to May 2023, where roles included Director of Interpreting and trilingual sign language interpreter. An academic background includes a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Capella University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Universidad Central de Bayamón, and a Bachelor's degree in English/Language Arts Secondary Education, along with various certifications in American Sign Language interpreting. Educational experience also includes serving as Academic Coordinator and English Teacher at Colegio San Gabriel para niños sordos from 2002 to 2010.
