Alan Lovell

Alan Lovell joined the Board as Chairman in July 2019. Alan has extensive experience of the construction sector and has led a number of major restructurings. He served as Chief Executive at four companies, including Costain and Jarvis, where he oversaw and implemented corporate turnarounds. He was also CEO of two waste-to-energy businesses. He was Chairman of the Consumer Council for Water from 2015 to 2019 and served on the Board of Amey UK plc.

Alan is Chairman of the University of Winchester, the Mary Rose and the Hampshire Cultural Trust. He is a Trustee of Winchester Cathedral. He was High Sheriff of Hampshire for 2010/11.

Alan read Classics at the University of Oxford and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC.
