Lorrey Thabet has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Lorrey started their career in 1987 as a Campus Staff Member at InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA and worked there until 1992. Lorrey then moved to Wake Medical Center, where they worked as a Medical Technologist from 1995 to 1999. In 1999, they returned to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA and took on various roles, including Urbana 2000 Exhibit Coordinator and Team Leader, Total Compensation. Their responsibilities included reviewing exhibitor applications, managing budgets, developing employee communications, and processing employment paperwork. In 2004, they became the Operations & Administrative Coordinator, where they primarily managed logistics for national management and employee meetings. Lorrey later transitioned to the role of GFM Operations Coordinator and, in 2015, became the Director of Operations for GFM.

Lorrey Thabet has a BA in Religion from Wake Forest University, which they obtained from 1979 to 1981. Lorrey also has a Certificate in Medical Technology from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, which they earned from 1981 to 1982. Additionally, Lorrey has two Certificates from Madison Area Technical College, one in Human Resources from 2001 to 2004, and another in Meeting and Event Management from 2006 to 2008.
