Daniel Kamerling has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Daniel started their career as a student at the Kellogg School of Management from 2009 to 2011. Afterward, they joined IBM as a Managing Consultant, where they led work streams in large transformation projects and supported the development of proposals from 2011 to 2013.
Daniel then worked at Riot Games as a Product Manager, responsible for developing a product vision and roadmap for the commerce features in League of Legends from 2013 to 2015. Daniel later joined Pivotal Labs as a Senior Product Manager, where they led product design and software development for clients and supported the monthly community product events. This role lasted from 2015 to 2016.
In 2016, Daniel joined Beachbody as a Senior Manager of Product Management, leading the organization in implementing user research, design, and value-based roadmaps. Daniel applied A/B testing and user-centered design, resulting in a 10% increase in conversion. Daniel then joined Google as a Product Manager, focusing on the developer experience for Google Stadia from 2018 to 2020.
From 2019 to 2021, Daniel worked at Purple Arch Ventures as a member of the Investment Committee. Daniel provided expertise in investment decision-making. Daniel also served as an Advisor for Lightform, an augmented reality startup, from 2013 to 2021, where they supported various aspects of the business, including pitch decks, market research, and product development.
Most recently, Daniel worked at Meta (formerly Oculus) from 2020 to 2023, where they held the position of Product Manager (Principal). Daniel played a crucial role in building the developer platform for Project Nazare, previously supporting developers in creating VR experiences for the Quest.
Daniel Kamerling has a strong education background with a focus on business, technology, and engineering. Daniel completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Virginia from 1999 to 2003. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Robotics at the Florida Institute of Technology, which they completed from 2005 to 2007.
Seeking further education in the business field, Daniel pursued an MBA (MMM) degree with a specialization in Strategy, Operations, and Design at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Daniel completed this degree from 2009 to 2011.
In addition to their formal education, Daniel has also obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2013, they completed the "Gamification" certification from Coursera. Daniel also completed the "The Global Business of Sports" certification through Coursera in the same year. Most recently, in 2015, they obtained the certification "Algorithms: Design and Analysis Part 1," also from Coursera.
