Vaughn Ostland

Vaughn Ostland is the Co-Founder and COO at Intrinsic LifeSciences. Vaughn has over 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, with a focus on molecular biology, biochemistry, and microbiology.

Prior to joining Intrinsic, Vaughn was the Director of Aquatic Pathology at Kent Seatech Corp, where they oversaw the company's fish health management program. Vaughn was responsible for diagnosing bacterial, parasitic, and mycotic pathogens of commercially-reared hybrid striped bass.

During their time at Kent Seatech, Vaughn also conducted extensive research on autogenous vaccine development, and was a Study Investigator for the use of antibiotics (florfenicol) to minimize mortality in hybrid striped bass for the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation (ONADE).

Vaughn has a strong track record in technology transfer and commercialization, with a focus on oncology and vaccines. Vaughn is an expert in project management and has a proven ability to build and lead cross-functional teams.

Vaughn Ostland holds a BSc in marine biology from the University of Guelph, an MSc in pathobiology from the University of Guelph, and a PhD in marine biology from the University of Guelph. Vaughn is certified in Learning GDPR from LinkedIn and in Six Sigma White Belt Certification from The Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC).

They are on a team with Tomas Ganz - Co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer, Elizabeta Nemeth - Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer, and Huiling Han - R&D Director. Vaughn Ostland reports to Eileen Westerman, CEO & Manager, Board of Directors.
