David St John

David St John has over 12 years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, and Cloud Engineering. In 2009, they began their career as a Senior LAMP Stack Engineer at Liquid Compass, where they developed and deployed a Citrix Xen Server and a custom Quickbase data exporter solution. In 2012, they became a Senior Software Engineer at Roomlinx and was responsible for full product life cycle management and ownership. David was then converted to a full-time employee and successfully deployed WifiLinx wifi hotspot system to over 60+ Hyatt Hotels. In 2015, they joined Huron as the Director of DevOps and Cloud Operations, where they were responsible for Nagios plugin development, VPN/IPSEC/Openswan/Libreswan Deployments, Mirth Connect Administration, Jenkins + Maven + Selenium Java Framework + Browserstack QA Lifecycle management and development, Custom Vagrant builds and deployments, Amazon Cloud development and administration, and troubleshooting and managing network infrastructure. David also joined MyRounding, a Huron solution, as the Lead DevOps. In 2016, they joined AOL as a Senior AWS Solutions Architect and MapQuest as a Senior DevOps and Platform Engineer. In 2017, they joined Verizon as a Senior Dev/SecOps Engineer and Team Lead, where they managed the relationship with the Paranoid security team, was part of the Incident response team, and was the co-chair of the Culture hack day. In 2021, they joined a Private Company as a DevSecOps Consultant and FDCServers.NET as the Head Of Engineering. David is currently working as a DevSecOps Delivery Lead at Intuitive.Cloud.

David St John has a Master's degree in Information Technology and Engineering from the School of Life. David also holds three certifications: RHLSA 1 from oDesk (obtained in December 2007), Redhat Linux GA from oDesk (obtained in December 2007), and PHP from oDesk (obtained in January 2007).
