Richard Vance

Richard Vance is a highly experienced software and systems safety consultant with a robust background in analyzing complex software systems according to various safety standards, including MIL-STD-882 and IEC 61508. Since October 2010, Richard has been with Software Safety LLC, providing specialized consulting services. Currently, Richard also serves as an Airworthiness Software Safety Consultant with Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation and is the CEO of Have Brain Will Travel, focusing on safety issues in land transport systems. Richard's previous experience includes significant roles at DBA Vance Research and Vance Research, where innovative methodologies were developed for software safety assessments. Richard holds an MBA in Project Management and Decision Sciences from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, alongside other certifications in assurance sciences and independent validation and verification, supported by a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of South Florida.
