Kris Buytaert

Cofounder & CTO at Inuits

Kris Buytaert has extensive work experience in the field of devops and technology. Kris is currently the CoFounder & Chief Yak Shaver at O11y, a role they started in 2022. Prior to this, Kris co-founded Inuits in 2007 and served as the CTO. Kris has also worked as a Devops Expert at VDAB from 2015 to 2016, assisting the organization with technical and organizational changes. In addition, Kris was a Devops Evangelist at ING from 2013 to 2016, helping various teams understand and adopt devops practices. Kris has held positions such as Yak Shaver at Intelliplan AB, Devops Kickstarter at UnifiedPost, Linux Expert at Newtec, and Guest Editor at Virtualization.com. Kris also co-founded X-Tend and worked as the CTO, and served as a Senior Linux Consultant at Stone-IT.

Kris Buytaert attended the Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven from 1996 to 1997, where they studied Applied Computer Science. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1997, they studied Computer Science at KU Leuven. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Master in Devops from the University of Deaf and Oops in 2009, and in RHCE from RedHat in 2001.
