Chettoor Antony

Scientist-plant Biology at Invaio Sciences

Chettoor Antony is a seasoned scientist in plant biology, currently working at Invaio Sciences since May 2019. Prior to this role, Chettoor served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Carnegie Institution for Science, focusing on female gametophyte development and maternal control of seed development in maize from September 2017 to April 2019. Chettoor held the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate at the same institution from July 2009 to December 2016, continuing the study of gametophyte development and maternal control of seed development. Earlier experience includes a Senior Research Associate role at Avesthagen, where abiotic stress mitigation strategies in rice were developed, and a Junior Research Fellow position at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, involved in rice transformation and abiotic stress research. Chettoor holds a Ph.D. in Botany/Plant Biology from Iowa State University and a Master’s in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, and Botany from St Josephs College Arts Science.
