Jon Horek

Jon Horek, P.E., is an accomplished professional in the field of mechanical engineering with extensive experience in hydrogen and low carbon fuels. Currently serving as Vice President of Hydrogen at Invenergy LLC since May 2022, Jon coordinates teams across various business aspects, including project development, engineering, and government affairs. Jon also holds the position of Director of Hydrogen Project Development for the State of Illinois and is a member of the Illinois Hydrogen Economy Task Force. Additionally, Jon has been actively involved with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and has served as a volunteer advisor to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Previous roles include chairing multiple task forces for the Advanced Energy Group and serving as Project Manager at Sargent & Lundy. Jon earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
