Valery Maksimenko

Valery Maksimenko has a diverse range of work experience in the technology and data industry. Starting in 2005, Valery worked as an Oracle DBA for the Energy Department of the Government of Alberta, supporting Oracle 9i and 10g in various environments. Valery then joined Telus in 2006 as an Oracle DBA, responsible for creating physical models and ensuring application performance through analysis and tuning of Oracle instances and code. In 2007, Valery worked as a Database Analyst for BC Liquor, implementing a project for the Oracle Application 11i. Valery then joined Best Buy as a Senior Oracle DBA in 2008, where they were involved in BI projects and daily support activities, resolving complex issues and improving ETL processes and SQL queries. From 2008 to 2015, Valery worked at Pacific Blue Cross as a Database Developer Analyst, setting up development and deployment processes on the database level for a new insurance business application. In 2015, Valery became an ETL Developer at BC Hydro, involved in the Smart Meter Project, designing solutions and preparing mapping documents. Valery then joined SHOES.COM in 2016 as a BI Consultant, tasked with refactoring ETL processes, streamlining logic, and consolidating business rules. From 2016 to 2021, Valery worked at Samsung Electronics, first as a Senior Big Data Engineer, involved in B2B Analytics and responsible for ETL processes and performance tuning. Later, Valery became a B2B Analytics Architect, specializing in creating solutions and managing analytics projects. Finally, in 2021, Valery joined Invent.us as a Solutions Architect.

Valery Maksimenko obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Irkutsk National Research Technical University, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Irkutsk Military Aviation Engineering Institute from 1991 to 1992, studying Radio and Electronic Device Engineering.
