Mary Corbin has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Mary started their career at Information Handling Services (IHS Group) in 1998, where they held multiple positions, including Author & Contracts Coordinator. During their time there, they managed author contacts, royalties, and contracts for 1,000 authors. Mary also fulfilled office manager duties.
In 2000, Mary joined the Financial Planning Association as the Senior Editor of the Journal of Financial Planning and the Managing Editor of FPA Press. In these roles, they managed all editorial content for the monthly technical journal, coordinated freelancers, and oversaw the peer review process for technical content. Mary also managed the association's book publishing arm, including author relations, contracts, royalties, and book development and production.
Mary then transitioned to become the Director of Learning & Development at the Financial Planning Association in 2010. In this role, they programmed and managed in-person, published, and virtual learning for professional financial planners. Mary also improved sales, profitability, and customer ratings of webinars and conference recordings by reviewing, selecting, and transitioning to a new webinar platform.
Since 2015, Mary has been working at the Investments & Wealth Institute. Mary started as the Education and Product Development Manager, where they ensured access to high-quality education for IMCA members through online and asynchronous courses. Mary managed existing product lines and led efforts in developing and launching new online learning products and platforms. Notably, they developed an award-winning Applied Behavioral Finance certificate program and played a crucial role in monetizing conference videos. In 2019, they became the Associate Director of Certifications and, later on, the Director of Certification Standards in 2023.

Mary Corbin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Writing & Linguistics and English, along with a minor in History from Briar Cliff University, where they attended from 1993 to 1997. Mary then pursued further education at Regis University, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, specifically focusing on Language and Communication, from 2001 to 2003.
