Debbie Ferris has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. In 1994, they started their career as a Teacher at The Epiphany School, where they worked as a head classroom teacher and also conducted various afterschool programs. In 2003, they co-founded Momhattan and served as an Event Planner, responsible for organizing events for moms and coordinating with speakers and locations. From 2008 to 2014, they owned and managed The Art Cart, where they taught children's art classes and planned and produced art events for children.

In 2011, they worked as a Teaching Artist at Yale Children's Hospital, designing art projects for pediatric patients and managing volunteers. In 2017, they joined Jack Morton Worldwide as a Freelance Production Coordinator, where they supported the planning of IBM events in Germany and Bali. In 2018, they joined InVision Communications as part of the Corporate Events Production team. Debbie Ferris has obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Belmont Abbey College. Debbie has also attended the Erma Bombeck Writers Workshop at the University of Dayton, although no degree was achieved there. Debbie pursued a field of study in Early Childhood Education at the Fordham University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Debbie also holds a High School Diploma from Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, VA. Additionally, they attended Heidelberg High School in Heidelberg, Germany, although no degree or field of study is specified for that period.
