Kalyn Hubbard has held a variety of roles in the scientific and hospitality industries since 2010. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as a server at Christo's Pizzeria and Restaurant and McMenamins Pubs & Breweries. In 2014, they worked as a Laboratory Assistant at Oregon State University. In 2016, they held roles as a Research Chemist at NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and a Seasonal Experimental Biology Aide at Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant - Master of Science in Microbiology at Oregon State University and Project Manager I and Zebrafish Technician II at InVivo Biosystems. In their current role as Project Manager II at InVivo Biosystems, they are responsible for ensuring that all projects are moving forward at an appropriate cadence, handling client updates and technical questions, shipping coordination, cost tracking, data management, and analysis for workflow optimization.

Kalyn Hubbard has a diverse educational background. Kalyn completed their Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) at Chemeketa Community College from 2009 to 2012. Kalyn then went on to obtain their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Zoology with a minor in Fisheries and Wildlife from Oregon State University from 2012 to 2015. Lastly, they earned their Master's degree in Microbiology and Fish Health from Oregon State University from 2017 to 2019. In addition to their formal education, Kalyn also holds certifications in OLCC License from the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (obtained in 2013), Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross (obtained in 2015), Wilderness First Aid from SOLO Wilderness Medical School (obtained in 2014), and Food Handler's Certification from Oregon Food Handlers (obtained in 2013).
