Hui Ong

Hui Ong has over 18 years of experience in the software development industry. In 2003, they began their career as a Software Developer at TCG/XM. Hui then moved on to become the Co-Founder/Head of IT at Eatability Pty Ltd, where they designed and developed the Eatability website. In 2004, they took on a role as Project Team Leader at Beechwood, where they created sites using Apache/Tomcat with the Struts framework. In 2012, they were responsible for the technical operations and evolution of Eatability at Optus. In 2015, they co-founded Pair, a dating app for iPhone, and architected, designed and developed the Pair iOS app and system of backend services. In 2019, they returned to Westpac as a Technical Lead and Senior Developer to create a fully native iOS banking app using Swift. Hui then moved on to become the Mobile Lead and Solution Architect at Virgin Trains, working remotely with teams in London and Serbia to create an account based ticketing solution. Currently, they are a Senior Mobile Engineer at BIG W and a Senior iOS Engineer at Invoice2go.

Hui Ong has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Deakin University, where they studied Technology Management. Hui also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from UNSW, where they studied Computer Science.
