Senior Animator at IO Interactive

Bert Zierfuss has had extensive work experience in character animation and game development. Bert started their career in 2001 as an Editor at Motionworks GmbH, where they worked on TV series and feature films. Bert then joined A. FilmApS as a Character Animator from 2006 to 2007.

In 2008, Bert joined IO Interactive as a Character Animator, where they worked on the game "Kane and Lynch 2 - Dog Days" and gained experience in motion capture. Bert continued to work at IO Interactive in various roles, including Cinematic Character Animator and Lead Animator, from 2011 to 2017. During this time, they were involved in the development of animation pipelines, facial capture systems, and mocap studios.

From 2017 to 2020, Bert served as a Lead Animator at IO Interactive, contributing to games such as "Hitman", "Hitman 2", and "Hitman Sniper." Bert worked on mocap recordings, supervised the animation teams, and developed animation assets for these games.

Since 2020, Bert has been working as a Senior Animator at IO Interactive, where they have been involved in technical supervision of mocap recordings, development of facial performance capture pipelines, and creating in-game animations.

Additionally, Bert had a freelance role as a Character Animator at Story AB in 2011, where they worked on an animated documentary called "Sharaf."

Throughout their work experience, Bert has gained expertise in animation pipelines, mocap technology, facial animation, and collaboration with various departments in the creative and technical aspects of game development.

Bert Zierfuss attended the international Academy of media and art from 1999 to 2001, where they pursued a degree in film and video editing, with a focus on cinematography and film/video production. In 2005, they briefly attended The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark, although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned.
