Dr. Michael Barillère-Scholz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Dr. Michael is the Co-Founder & CEO of ioki - a DB company, where they focus on New & Smart Mobility, Demand Responsive Transport, Data driven Mobility Analytics, and Autonomous Driving. Dr. Michael was also the Director Smart Cities at Smart City | DB. Prior to that, they worked at Deutsche Bahn as the Vice President Autonomous Driving and New Mobility, as well as in the roles of Project Lead and IT Project Lead for Autonomous Driving in Public Transport. Dr. Michael has also served as the Director of Application Management and Requirements Engineering for Bike-, Carsharing & Fleetmanagement at Deutsche Bahn Connect. Dr. Scholz Consulting was another company where they served as the CEO. Dr. Michael has also worked as a Senior Consultant at myconsult GmbH and KA Consulting GmbH. Earlier in their career, they were the Team Lead at Transport-, Informatik-, Logistik-Consulting (TLC) GmbH and Co-Founder of ProNet Media GmbH. Dr. Michael started their career as an Assistant Executive Board at European Communication Systems AG.
Dr. Michael Barillère-Scholz has a diverse education history. In 1994 to 1998, they attended the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where they obtained a Master of Business and Engineering degree in Transport & Logistik. Subsequently, from 1998 to 2005, they pursued their academic career at Universität Paderborn, earning a Doctorate in Business Computer Science and Business Information Systems. In 2001 to 2002, Dr. Barillère-Scholz attended St. Galler Business School, where they completed a Diploma in Business Consulting. Throughout their career, they have also continued to enhance their skills through various certifications. These include becoming a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2011, achieving the Scrum Master designation from scrum.org in 2015, and completing the Agile Business Coach (Foundation) program at 123Agile in 2018. Additionally, in 2016 to 2018, they engaged in self-study with Udacity in the field of Self Driving Car Engineering, earning a Self Driving Car Engineer degree.
