Cory Bomberger has had a varied work experience since 2008. Cory began as a Research Assistant and Undergraduate Research Fellow at Penn State University in 2008. In 2009, they took on a role as a Ceramic Engineer Co-op at Acumentrics Corporation. The following year, they worked as a Ceramic Engineer Intern at Bechtel Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. In 2010, they returned to Penn State University as a Research Assistant. From 2011 to 2016, they worked at the University of Delaware as a Graduate Research Student, focusing on the Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) growth and characterization of rare-earth monopnictide (RE-V) nanoparticles epitaxially embedded within III-V semiconductor structures. Cory also served as President of the Materials Research Society during this time, organizing a daylong conference and 11 student lunch talk sessions. From 2016 to 2021, Cory worked at Intel Corporation as a Process Engineer. Cory currently works at Ion Storage Systems as a Battery Scientist III.
Cory Bomberger obtained a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering with a focus in Electronic and Photonic Materials from Penn State University between 2007 and 2011. Cory then went on to receive a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Delaware between 2011 and 2016.
