Lou Walcer

Lou Walcer is an advisor and board member at IonLyme. Lou has over 20 years of experience in the biomedical industry, including new venture development, management consulting, and product development.

Walcer began their career as a director at Cornell University, where they oversaw the development of new life science ventures. Lou then spent four years as a senior commercialization officer at Cleveland Clinic, before moving on to MediMOP USA as president and general manager.

In 2005, Walcer founded Mediconcepts Consulting, a new venture consulting firm specializing in the biomedical industry. Over the next five years, they helped numerous startups get off the ground, providing them with development and implementation services.

In 2010, Walcer joined Copernicus Gene Systems as vice president of business development and marketing. Lou helped the company develop non-viral delivery systems for gene therapies. After three years at Copernicus, Walcer moved to Gliatech as vice president of business development and marketing.

Most recently, Walcer served as director of new product and business development at Wyeth for two years. In their current role at IonLyme, Walcer is using their vast experience in the biomedical industry to help the company develop new products and grow its business.

Lou Walcer received their English degree from Cornell University in 1974 and their MBA in marketing from NYU Stern School of Business.
