Paulo Costa de Oliveira, P.Eng.

Paulo Costa de Oliveira, P.Eng. has over 17 years of experience in engineering. Paulo began their career in 2004 as a Co-Op Manufacturing Engineer for Santa Marina, where they worked with logistical applications for a Cream Cheese manufacturing plant. In 2006, they became a Contractor Network Engineer for Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, responsible for guiding a team of 5 to 10 field technicians to install new hardware equipment. In the same year, they also worked as a Quality Assurance Intern for CounterPath, where they tested scripts and functionality of VoIP software. From 2008 to 2015, they held various roles at dPoint Technologies Inc., including Quality Lead/Engineer and Test Engineer. During this time, they created and deployed a Quality Management System from scratch, reflecting ISO-9001 standards. Paulo then moved to CORE Energy Recovery Solutions as Quality Manager, responsible for setting up a QMS following Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9001:2015 principles. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Senior Quality Engineer at Stryker, providing support and direction in the Quality Operations team. Most recently, they joined Kardium Inc. as Quality Engineering Manager, focusing on continuous improvement for ensuring consistent quality is produced for commercial, pre-clinical and early clinical stages of a heart catheter used for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation. Paulo currently works as Principal Coating Engineer at Ionomr Innovations Inc.

Paulo Costa de Oliveira, P.Eng. has an extensive education history. In 2000, they completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from PUC Minas. In 2011, they earned a Certificate in Project Management from The University of British Columbia in Sustainability. In 2015, they acquired a Certificate from Converting School Connect USA in Web Handling, Converting, Coating and Drying. Paulo also obtained certifications from ASQ in 2015 (ASQ Certified Six Sigma Green Belt) and 2019 (CQE - Certified Quality Engineer). In 2017, they were granted the P.Eng. certification from Engineers and Geoscientists BC. In 2021, they completed a ISO 13485:2016 Lead Auditor (TPECS) from BSI Training Academy. Paulo is currently enrolled in an PMP® Exam Prep Seminar from Instructing.com, which is expected to be completed in 2022.
