Finn Lasse Buessen has a strong background in research and development, particularly in the field of quantum computing. Finn Lasse has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Research Assistant at the University of Cologne in 2015. During their time there, Finn developed and benchmarked novel numerical techniques for quantum magnetism simulations, contributing to the publication of 8 articles in renowned peer-reviewed journals. Finn Lasse also implemented highly efficient code for scientific computations on large-scale high-performance computing platforms.
In 2019, Finn joined the University of Toronto as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they specialized in computational condensed matter physics. During their tenure, they published over 10 academic papers in renowned peer-reviewed journals and released 2 major open-source projects for high-performance simulation code on GitHub.
In 2022, Finn was awarded a competitive Mitacs Elevate industry postdoctoral fellowship, which allowed him to work as a Quantum Software Developer and Industry Postdoctoral Fellow at Entangled Networks, a Toronto-based quantum tech startup. Finn Lasse'sresearch focused on distributed quantum computing, and this collaboration with the University of Toronto led to significant advances in the field.
Currently, Finn holds the position of Senior Engineer at IonQ, starting in 2023.
Finn Lasse Buessen obtained their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Physics from the University of Cologne in 2016. Later, they pursued further studies and completed their Dr. rer. nat. (Ph.D.) in Theoretical Physics from the same university in 2019.
