John Gamble is an accomplished professional in quantum computing with extensive experience in system architecture and performance optimization. Currently serving as Senior Director at IonQ since May 2022, John leads efforts in modeling, simulation, and characterization of quantum computer systems, having previously held similar roles within the company. Prior to IonQ, John worked at Microsoft, where notable achievements included managing a team focused on qubit development and pioneering quantum device tuning protocols. John's career also includes significant contributions at Sandia National Laboratories, where John led teams in semiconductor qubit research. With a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, alongside a strong foundation in theoretical physics, John has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation in quantum technology.
