Luning Zhao

Luning Zhao has a diverse work experience in various positions and institutions. They started at McMaster University in 2013 as a Research Assistant. In 2014, they joined the University of California, Berkeley, where they held multiple roles as a Graduate Student Researcher, Graduate Student Instructor, and Junior Specialist until 2019. From 2017 to 2018, Luning worked as a Research Intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. They then moved on to the University of Washington, where they worked as a Research Associate from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Luning is employed at IonQ, holding the positions of Senior Engineer from 2021 to 2022 and Staff Engineer from 2022 onwards.

Luning Zhao began their education at Dalian No.24 Senior High School from 2007 to 2010. After completing their high school education, they went on to study at Tianjin University for their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Materials Chemistry from 2010 to 2014. Building upon their undergraduate studies, Luning Zhao pursued a higher level of education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Theoretical Chemistry from 2014 to 2019.
