Preclinical Research Engineer at iota Biosciences

Anagha Kotkar has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries. Anagha is currently employed as a Preclinical Research Engineer at iota Biosciences, Inc. powered by Astellas since 2022. Prior to this, Anagha worked as a Research Assistant in the Neuromodulation Lab at the University of Michigan from 2021 to 2022. Here, they developed a 3D pudendal nerve model and optimized it through FEA analysis. Anagha also served as a Graduate Student Instructor for the Biomedical senior design course and as a Team Leader for Sling Health, where they led a cross-functional team in the development of a surgical device. Anagha also gained experience as a Research Assistant in the Pneuro Lab, where they contributed to a Medtronic funded research project involving bladder stimulation.

Earlier in their career, Anagha worked at Tata Motors as a Senior Manager from 2019 to 2021. Here, they optimized CAPEX and conducted failure analysis to improve maintenance techniques. Anagha also analyzed fuel sloshing and contributed to MATLAB modeling. Anagha's work experience also includes their role as a Technical Team Member at Robot Study Circle COEP from 2016 to 2019, where they contributed to the design and manufacturing of various robots for competitions. Anagha also gained experience as a Project Intern at I - Design Engineering Solutions Limited in 2018, where they contributed to axle assembly modeling and analysis.

Anagha Kotkar's education history begins with completing a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School from 2021 to 2022. During the same period, they also pursued a Graduate Data Science Certification in MIDAS at the University of Michigan. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2019, Anagha completed minors in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at the College of Engineering Pune, focusing on Internet of Things. Anagha obtained their BTech in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution between 2015 and 2019. Before their undergraduate studies, Anagha completed their HSC (Science with Electronics - Bifocals Course) at Maharashtra Education Society's Abasaheb Garware College of Arts and Science, Pune 04 from 2013 to 2015. Finally, their secondary education was completed at St. Mira's Secondary School, where they obtained their SSC degree.
