Matthew Strawn has a diverse work experience that spans several industries and leadership roles. Matthew is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Iowa Lottery, where they are responsible for managing a large workforce and overseeing the strategic plan for maximizing revenue. Strawn is also a Member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Multi-State Lottery Association.
Prior to their current roles, Strawn co-founded Next Generation Public Affairs, a public affairs firm based in Chicago. Matthew also founded The Strawn Company, which provided advisory services to corporate and not-for-profit entities in Iowa. Additionally, Strawn served as a co-owner of the Iowa Barnstormers Football team and as Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa.

Matthew Strawn received their B.A. degree from the University of Iowa in 1996. Matthew then pursued their Doctor of Law (JD) from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law from 1999 to 2003. In 2019, Matthew was a Winter 2019 Pritzker Fellow at the University of Chicago.
